Well, it's that time of day again. Yeah, that's right. Lunch time. That time of day when we get to kick back, relax, and shove our faces full of food to get us through the rest of the afternoon.
Here's some of the things on my mind.
Obama vs. McCain. This is scary to say, but there is a chance that I may actually vote Democrat this year. I know!! Crazy! I'm just not entirely convinced that McCain is the one to lead us through the next four years. To be quite honest, I don't know that we really have much of a selection of candidates this year. It almost feels like I'm making a choice between poking my left eye out or my right. It's times like these that you wish you had the ability to look into the future, see what the outcome of the next four years will be for each choice and then vote accordingly. I'm just going to have to do my best to research the two candidates and decide which cliff will be safer to jump off of.
Retake on Crisis Core. Still a fun game, but I have to say, I did get a little bored of doing the missions in the game (which is the only way of grinding/gaining levels by the way) and so I now find myself in a conundrum. The game took a huge difficulty spike right near the end, so I find myself lacking in the levels sufficient to proceed and yet I find myself not really desiring to do any more of the freaking repetitive missions either. One of these nights I'll just need to buckle down and do it just because I want to finish the game. I would still recommend the game to anyone, but just be warned you have to REALLY like the mission part of the game.
Let's see...there must be something else on my mind. Well, I have a rather volitile rant about illegal immigration brewing in my mind, but I think I'll save that for its own post and when I'm feeling particularly awnry about it. Stay tuned...
Oh yes! The Mojave Experiment. When I found out about this experiment, I thought it was hilarious. It turns out Microsoft wanted to prove just how much brainwashed zombies people are when it comes to operating systems. They brought a bunch of people in and asked what people thought of Windows Vista. For the most part people trashed it, regardless of whether they've used it or not. Then get this. They show them this new OS, Mojave and have them play around with it for a short time and then rate it. People loved it, they gave it an average rating of 8.5/10 as opposed to what they gave Vista (4/10). Here's the kicker. They were then told that Mojave IS Vista. It was just reskinned to look different. The people's reactions were awesome and some people refused to believe that what they were just shown was Windows Vista. This just goes to show that far too many people are relying solely on the word of Mac elitist zealouts and Mac smear campaigns. When people get a chance to use it themselves, on average they are pleased with it. I just pray that this same mindless sheepism doesn't carry over into politics and religion. Sadly though, I have a suspicion that it may.

No no, not everyone is a mindless sheep involved in politics and religion.
Sometimes it may seem there are so many that it appears that way, but it's not the case.

"illegal immigration" - In this country, if you want even a semi-decently paid job, you have to leave the country (Unless you're REALLY lucky). If you apply for a "Work Permit" in the US / UK, it gets instantly denied....
"The Mojave Experiment" - I hate Vista - I know what it's like, quite a few of it's intricate details, and I STILL hate it....

Hehe, well even in the Mojave experiment, there were some who still didn't like it. I know what Microsoft was trying to prove and my take on it is simply that too many people have made uninformed decisions. Love it or hate it...at least be informed.
As far as elections go, unfortunately at this time it could be an important choice as to who the President is, depending on what happens the next few years. I guess you can always say that, but it seems even more so this year.
For the illegal immigration, I will go more into this when I finally get my rant on, but I do understand that conditions for some countries are less than ideal. I think it is rather unfair to people who try to get in legally and get denied that we do so little to keep the illegal immigrants out. My wife is an immigrant, which forms a large basis for my attitude towards illegal immigration.
Once I actually get a ways into the game, I'll talk about Disgaea. So far I haven't played enough to give a really good assessment, but it could easily turn out to be as good or better than Final Fantasy Tactics. I can't really compare it to Crisis Core since they're two totally different styles.
I'm not ashamed to vote Democrat. Voting Democratic is an honor.
I'm definetly voting Obama. McCain seems to make incredibly poor decisions reguarding his campaign, and I can only imagine it going into his presidency if he were to be elected.
Crisis Core, never played it. I haven't had much time for gaming recently, been spending most of my time on the Warhammer open beta (amazing btw).
The Mojave Experiment made me lol. It just goes to show how word of mouth can make up people's decisions for them. The more hilarious thing was that the Mac smear campaign targeting vista specifically was on TV at the same time I was watching. I suppose I should be like the rest of America and get my information from commercials instead of trying it first hand, I'm suprised Apple hasn't released a "The More You Know" public announcment about Vista.
Honestly, I can't follow someone to says one thing, and does another.
Obama said he would run a respectful campaign, and he has. Although he has exaggerated on some things, he hasn't attacked mccain, nor has he lied about mccain.
Mccain said he will run a respectful campaign, and then said obama is just a celebrity, says blatent lies in his attack ads(Obama's energy plan is to inflate your tires, or will raise taxes for middle class), and tries to pin clinton supporters against obama.
Completely disrespectful campaign run by Mccain.
I Admit, I am normally a democrat, but I was actually supporting mccain to win the republican nomination last year, and I can't believe how much he has changed his beliefs in everything.
If he can change everything he believes in one year, I can't imagine how much of a roller coaster ride we'd all be in for with him as president.
I'd like to get off his horror ride, I don't want to get on another.

I read your post about Obama. Interesting comments. Like I was telling my dad, I have a lot of research to do on the two candidates.
I have to admit that I don't understand most of your blog as I've never ventured into the world of gaming, but we all have to have a nerdy hobby...mine is birding.

Obama on the O'Reilly Factor was impressive in how he handled himself and the interview. He "gets it" more than I gave him credit for with regard to national defense and the war on terror, but on government programs, economics, and moral issues, he is so far away from my values that I just couldn't vote for him.
Haha, yeah. This blog is more to feed my nerdy side than anything I guess. One of these days I'll make an actual family blog for those in my family not as into nerdy stuff.
Anyways, I understand your feelings about Obama. At the same time, I have a hard time wanting to vote for either candidate at this point. Mccain is just running such a dirty campaign this year that I don't see how I can vote for anyone who has to resort to such tactics. I mean...he was even stupid enough to point people to factcheck.org in one of his ads and that site is dedicated to pointing out lies and misleading statements in political ads. Guess who dominates the site...
Anyways. I almost wish there were a "neither" option on the ballot. That way I could say I don't like either candidate, but I still voted!
More bloggage, I waited two months, you've waited 4. There must be going things in your life. Heck you could write about that day you spent with the friend you hadn't seen in 10 years.
